Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to serve as Deputy Chief
Financial Officer. This position will oversee, review, and evaluate
the agency fiscal records to ensure the accuracy for use in
management decisions, projections, and budget preparation. This
position will meet the agency's goals and objectives in an
effective, efficient, and fiscally responsible manner. This
position will supervise the Fiscal Accounts Clerk Supervisor who
manages the Cash Receipts/Patient Accounts and Accounts Payable
sections, as well as the Fiscal Account Technician I and Fiscal
Accounts Clerk Supervisor who make up the Payroll and Timekeeping
Unit of the department. This position will also be the acting Chief
Financial Officer in the Chief Financial Officer's absence.
Other duties assigned but not limited to:
This position completes the year-end closeout in FMIS for
submission to General Accounting Division in Annapolis, coordinates
all FMIS activities within the agency to provide necessary
information to R*STARS and ADPICS users as well as oversees the
process of developing and maintaining a policy and procedures
manual for the Accounting Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited
college or university or a bachelor's degree from an accredited
college or university with 30 credit hours in accounting and
related courses, including or supplemented by 3 credit hours in
auditing.
Experience: Three years of experience examining, analyzing and
interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying
generally accepted accounting principles.
